Hard one today, got me compleatly stumped.
Also does anyone know what numbers where the first three clues, missed those days, just interested to know which ones they were....
I'm rather hoping inspiration will arrive over lunch. I think the second word ends in "N" But I'm a bit flummoxed today. My first entry was on Saturday so I don't know what I'm missing.
two words 5 and 9 hmm I dont know. Is it one of the team at AlpKit? is there a list of their names anywhere?
Yeah got the same last letter.
Friday was 26 across, which is an easy one, you will be able to get it without the picture clue.
As for the first 3 days I have no idea...
There is a list of names but none seems to have a 5 letter 1st name.
Glad its not just me.
Day off today and I have just spent the last 3 hours researching the travels of " Robert Falcon SCOTT cov."
Seeing who went out with him and came back.
You would not believe the amount of people with 8 & 10 letter surnames.
i haven't give up yet...... but am class
Just off to repair a puncher and hope for some insertion.
For Gods sake look after my people (Robert Falcon Scott 17 march )
*BigJohn*I think the second word ends in "N" you must ave 19 down then
I got it ๐
Yup. But I don't know if that one's been done yet. I just thought about it.
took 2 mins on wiki to confirm what I thought, and yes second word does end in N ๐
give us a clue ๐
It is a toughy and it took much scratching of my head, until I thought about my ME Ogre walking jacket.
Is it meant to be doug scott on the left, if so its Chris Bonington
nice clue.
no clues needed, it so bleedin obvious, or is it just me ?

tragically1969 was just looking for a clue, not the bleedin answer!
Spoiled it :(, ah well!
tragically1969 was just looking for a clue, not the bleedin answer!
ooops, sorry ๐ณ
Although to be fair you were not to specific in what you wanted !!
True true, do you know which numbers the first three clues were?
Mountain village, on a lake, with railway station.
Something something something N something something something something
Todays is easier.
Much easyer today, only ones I have left to do are [7] , [1,11,3] and [13,9] now. Compleatly foxed on them ๐
Got it - Bownesss.
Cheers John, another one done ๐
I dont think todays is that easy there are a couple of obvious answers that dont fit, I'm not having a good week on this
Baa baa land *hint hint*
There are two HUGE clues in the picture!
YAS! got it, thanks monkeychild
is it a european or british village?
What about todays- had a search through the alpkit info but nothing fits.. any pointers?
I'm stuck but I think its a bouldering thingy ๐
It is a bouldering route. [s]Still no closer[/s] Got it- I think!
Is it a canyon near Las vegas?
yep bouldering route, the clue helps find the pic to confirm ๐
Ooops - misled myself. Its much closer to home - just seen the calendar shot.
Has the clue been given out for 1,11,3? Its the only one I haven't got yet and i don't know if it might be one of the first ones that I didn't see.
???T/A????/?P?R?
BigJohn, no.
Stuck again today..
Mountain Mayhem venue maybe?
Not to bad today, took all of 5 min, starting to get quite alot of the grey boxes filled, an anogram of some sort.
not struggling with todays question as it was very easy but the question last week about the mountain village i didnt get and ive got a bit of OCD and need to fill it in
so who is going to be nice and help out
It was Llanberis wasn't it ?
yeah thats what I got ๐
Does anyone know if 1, 11, 3 or 7 across have been yet?
They haven't been yet
Ah bonus, which where the first three?
What was yesterday all about? Mini Alkit Mountaineers at Cliffhanger??
7,2,3,5
alpkids on the blocs
Its gonna be dificult now - I'm being picked up at 8:30 tomorrow for a weekend biking trip in the lakes, and it looks like tomorrow's going to be the 1,11,3 that I've got no idea on, and I'll have to try and find an internet cafe in Kentmere to log on and enter the bonus clue (which I'm pretty sure I,ve already worked out) on Saturday.
Should I cancel the trip to make sure of getting my entry in?
I dont see how the picture matches with the clue, Communal Old Salty Dog Shelter. hmmm
Google Old Salty Dog Alpkit..
ah that makes much more sense! cheers
I just got today's. It took a whole hour of googling, but I got there.

Duh! It's easier when you wake up and realise 1,11,3 aren't the length of the words!
really?
it was the first hit when i googled
remember everything is on the alpkit website also!!!
Well its the Big One
thought i had cracked it.......
but have a letter short and one left over
could i be wrong in on of my answers ????
the search goes on
everyone else has got it then.
Todays- its easy!
Todays is ridiculously easy!
I have only one "S" and an "R" instead ๐
R????? Where the flip did that come from???
17 down mountain village
hope you worked it out tortoise! and managed to get rid of that R, what did you think the mountain village was then!?
Think I got all of them right... now just to sit and wait for the announcement - Tuesday was it?
Who won then?
Who won then?
I dunno, but the poor sod's going to get a perfectly good Genesis SS bike pimped up with bling by Superstar Components, who according to the Alpkit website are ' are known for their brake pads .... so they will throw a few sets of these in to keep you safe on the trails.'
Yeah, as it happens, I know a little bit about Superstar's brakepads. 'Safe on the trails' wasn't the expression that sprung to mind when I had a couple of sets of them.
Anyway, thanks to Alpkit for all the fun over the first 19 days of December. I think I worked out all the answers myself though I wouldn't have got the 'mountain village' one if I hadn't ridden up & down Snowdon in October (a ride which, coincidently, featured a brake pad related incident from a certain aforementioned company)
