Beds Fat Trax was the forerunner of what is now Chicksands Bikepark. Back in the day we used to bomb around the freeride area for the hell of it and thrash round the woods. Locals got upset so Beds Fat Trax was formed - the main mover was Giles Henday along with Steve Dowie and a few others. Marked out the xc route with the wooden posts which were constantly uprooted by the locals again! It certainly brought my riding on a long way after moving nearby from Kent over 25 years ago. We even ran a few Friday Night series races for Numplumz.
Anyway, I still ride through the woods and love the feel of the place although I'm not rad enough for the bikepark.

Not a member but I remember the signs from eons ago around Chicksands.
