I've been thinking I should get some knee protection.
However, I'm concerned that there may be some pressure that forces the knee-cap being pushed into the joint, I've got some pretty dodgy knees - with arthritis being the primary culprit. Even slight pressure results in pain eventually.
I'm looking for advice on any knee pads that won't press on the knee cap, and are still ok for pedalling about.
I often suffer patella mistracking if I have any pressure on my right knee - even skinny jeans can set it off. However I've found Fox Launch Pros (the massive downhill style ones) don't irritate it and I wear them for everything (with plenty of pedalling).
Yep give Fox Launch Pros a go.
They might look massive but they're pretty light and comfy, I wear them for long rides all the time.
The Dainese trail skins are not tight around my knee.
thanks guys - the info is very much appreciated
chiefgrooveguru - that sounds very much like my symptoms too re skinny jeans
Tried these out:
- the Fox launches were too tight on my calf (both the SS17 & 3DO versions)
- the Dainese Trailskins pushed against my knee cap.
Will keep looking
