Me and the Ladyfriend have booked a hotel in Loch Rannoch, Scotland (Perthshire I think) in mid October, on the basis of "looks a nice hotel, what the hell, we'll always find something to do there".
Not dead set on taking the bikes, but if there's decent mountain biking not too far away then I suppose it would be rude not to.
Anybody know of any good riding within a reasonable distance from Loch Rannoch? (maybe within an hour's drive or so?)

There's a good circuit from Pitlochry to Strathtay via the Rob Roy Way and back via Loch Derchulich to Loch Tummel. You can then add on Ben Vrackie via some lovely riverside singletrack where the Tummel meets the Garry.
I'll dig out a map/some pictures.
Sorry, I'm guessing that should be Kinloch Rannoch?
