I have a frame issue I am trying to understand if its a manufacture issue or design issue.
I have one - whats your beef?
Few days ago my left crank arm (non-drive arm) fell off my crank while paddling. apparently, it was assembled with spacers between the BB (SRAM PressFit GXP) and the crank-arm, so the arm is not fully tightened.
When checking SRAM spec for the BB and the X1 crank, I noticed that the spacers should not be there. Yet, if I remove the spacers, then the crank arm would hit the chain-stay.
I wonder if there is a manufacture issue that something went wrong with the frame, and the mechanic who built the bike decided to put these spacers, or is it a design issue, and all Spectral bikes having the same unwanted spacers.
On my mobile at the moment, so can't upload a pic, but mine appears to have spacers too. E-mither address I can send to?
no private messages here?
sent you an email according to the email in your profile
No spacers on mine, SRAM cranks 1x11
Sent you a couple of pics of mine
grievoustim - really?
on the non-drive side?
No- I'm a bit broken at the moment so hard to look too close but I don't see anything that looks like a spacer
Disclaimer - this is my first press fit BB and I've not had the cranks off, could be a couple of thin metal spacers in there but hard to tell. Anyway you should be able to compare the photo with your bike.
It does look like there are these two thin metal spacers... just as in mine.
I am waiting for Canyons' replay about it. According to SRAM installation guide, it shouldn't be there.
So, I got a reply from Canyon service center, asking me to send them the bike for further investigation.
Bummer, not only I've waited 5 months from order until delivery, only rode it for 2 months, and now, again, will have no normal AM bike fro at least a month...
Back to my XC bike...
can you update the thread when they respond?
no sign of loosening on my cranks - but would be good to know what they say
ah that is a pain.
I waited a similar amount of time for mine, and am now nursing a broken wrist
glass half full - at least you can still ride a bike
Get well.
and yes, at least I can ride a bike, and luckily I have a second bike. So I won't jump high drops... ๐
