As per the title. My budget could stretch to a little more (about another £100). So im wandering if there are better alternatives than this?

Thanks

There may be better wheelsets out there but I'm well pleased with mine. My LBS recommend the enduros over the xc's and the extra width means my 2.25's sit nicely on the rim.

Im running a set of Pro 4's on Easton Arc Rims. We can build them with plain gauge spokes for around £500 mark. Lighter, wider and personally feel stiffer to me after riding both.

Tech enduros are very good though

I got a set of Stans flows built up on hope hubs with plain spokes and tubeless tape in for under £400. Wide enough to help and dead easy setting up tubeless. Definitely worth a look as they seem pretty bombprooof. I am 95 kgs with all my clobber on and tend to monster truck it!

I have Hopetech Enduros on my Trance. If I'm honest, they are a perfectly decent set of wheels . Hope pro2 hubs are excellent. Can't put my finger on it, but guess it's weight. They just feel a bit 'dead' .
I tried my mates Light Bicycle rimmed wheelset in my bike the other day. Identical to mine apart from rim and running broadly similar tyres. The LB rimmed wheels are certainly lighter and seemed to accelerate faster .
The Hopes are decent value for money though I think.

I would say the best alternative is to get some built onto DT XM481 rims for a 30mm wide rim thats not made of cheese, its probably the best weight/strength/width combo available right now for the money you're looking at.

I got flow ex built onto pro 2 hubs by my lbs. Lighter than the enduros and wider at 25mm so give my tyres a lovely profile. On a shan 160mm hardtail at just over 20psi so rear takes a pounding and they are still true and dent free. A lot was in the skill of the wheelbuilder but they were just over 400 set up tubeless and applying custom vinyls I supplied.

Alpine bikes @ Inners had them for £280 a pair at Tweedlove, which looked a decent price, maybe worth a call to see if they'd still do it?.

I'm on Easton ARC30's on Pro 4 hubs and DT Swiss DB spokes. I paid £400 all in.

So far I'm really pleased with the wheels although the freehub is bloody noisey.

I know on there that Easton wheels are universally hated but my Havocs were great. The rear picked up a few knocks and dings but still held air and set up tubeless with very little issue. The bearings even lasted well too.

For trails - Spank Oozy
For Enduro / DH - Spank Spike

Brilliant wheels.
