I'm thinking of changing my GF's medium Superlight for a Giant Anthem.
She rides the 17.5" Superlight with a layback post & 100mm stem, so was thinking an 18" Anthem with in line post might be just right.
The difference in effective top tubes is 10mm.
Any 5'8" riders on a Medium? At 5'11" I found a medium too small for me when I had one a few years ago.
Yep I was, bob on it was small is waaay to small. Inline and 100mm.
I'm 5 10 on a medium trance and it feels fine.
not quite the same but similar
I'm just over 5ft 7 and rode a small Anthem X all last year. It felt fine for me with a layback post and 100mm stem but I reckon I'd have been fine on a medium with inline post.
It's worth noting that I bought my nearly new Anthem X off a lady who found the mens geometry version didn't work for her and was getting a wsd Anthem instead. She needs to get a test ride really.
Yup, I'm around 5'8" and mine is a medium.. currently with an 80mm stem, although that was more for quicker handling than cockpit position.. think a large would just be too stretched out for me..
Plus ^^WHS^^ about potentially different geometries for women..
im youre hight and i ride a small, fits me really good, personally i think you should ride the smallest bike that you fit comfortably.
I am just under 5ft 9in and your old medium Anthem fit me just right Dickie.
It was fine with a 90mm stem and 660mm bars too, btw.
Thanks for the replies, might try a medium as she has long arms, & likes a racing style.
does to balance things up i'm also around 5ft 9in and ride a small with a 90mm stem and inline post - feels grand!
I'm nearly 5'8" on a good day and the medium is fine for me. 90mm stem and inline post.
