Hey guys. New to the forum, so I'd just like to say hi.

I'm Sam. I'm 24 and love to ride natural trials, although I do ride trail centres from time to time!
I don't live to far from the Peak District so a lot of my riding it down around there!

At the minute I'm riding a Lapierre zesty 314 2013 and gotta say I love it! Bombs down the hills as well as climbing back up them!

I've entered rat race this year as a challenge for my self and also do a little bit for charity! Have any of you done the rat race that know what I'm letting my self in for?

I hear things are a bit sensitive over in your neck of the woods?

Welcome

Yeah there's a few bridle path debates and moaning walkers! I'm sure that's similar to everywhere though!

What are your opinions on strava...

I'll scuttle off to check the peaks leaderboards for a 'Sam'

Hi Sam, welcome to the forum! STW is a great place to hang out and we're a great bunch, mostly! There are a few bell-ends on here but don't let that put you off! The worst are the grammar pedants! I'll kick things off; the overuse of exclamation marks dilutes their impact! Do you see what I mean?!

Regards...Rusty!

Welcome Sam.
I wish I'd had the good courtesy to open up with a friendly hello thread like yours. I came here looking for advice on a build I was starting and launched straight in with a question. A bit selfish now I think about it. But since then I've found STW a great place to hang out and ended up chatting about all sorts and contributing my fair share of gibberish. With only one exception that I've noticed everyone on here seems to be good natured, helpful and in most cases, knowledgeable. I'm sure you'll soon feel right at home.

And for the record I still like 26s (for now)

Did Ratrace last year....awesome event, great crack at campsites...some fab off- road trails but too much road for my liking.....especially as it was 30 degrees most of the time..you'll love it though!!!!!!!!

Welcome BTW

Hahah. Exactly the banter responses I'm looking for!

As for the strava and wheel size debates and all that crap. I just like to ride MTB's. I have a garmin so I use that. Sometimes upload ride I did to strava to see how fast I did a descent. Wheel sizes I can't really comment as I've only rode my mates 29 cheapo hardtail which I thought was terrible. Prob more the sh*t bike then the wheels. I need to go on a few test days before I set out for a new bike. Although I do like the sound of the mondraker foxy as a trail centre only bike! But for the time being I'll happily keep the 26in flag high!

And for the record I drive a f*cked up 05 fiesta which my bike is prob worth twice as much. Not an audi! Haha
