My FS 100mm 29er currently has a 55mm offset.

If I replace that fork with a fork that has 51mm offset how would that affect how the bike handles? Head angle is currently 69.5 degrees if that has any bearing on things.

Sorry I’ve tried searching and keep finding conflicting information...

Are you sure it’s 55mm offset? That’s unusually long! The slightly shorter offset will make the steering very slightly calmer.

Yep thanks. It’s a Lefty 2.0 with 55mm but thinking about sticking a rockshox SID on it at 51mm.

So steering would be slightly more stable and less responsive?

Pretty clear video here that explains what will happen

It’s not a big difference - like slackening your head angle by half a degree in your case (which you can get a feel for by adding 10mm more sag at the back or 10mm less at the front or 5mm at both ends).

Thanks guys. That video was very helpful.

I’m now an offset wizard

Leftys tend to have short A-C lengths, so replacement likely to be longer, so HA likely to slacken a bit too.
