Thinking of going with my son. We would fly into Barcelona Saturday morning and fly home Sunday evening (or maybe Monday morning).
Is there somewhere cheap to stay? Happy with a hostel but understand it will be busy. Would have a car for the trip. Could take some camping gear but the baggage cost would be more than a hotel room.
There’s not many campsites in Andorra and those that exist seem to cater more for campers/caravans.
There’s not a huge amount of hostels either. Two that I know of are Hotel/hostel Font. It’s right below the lift station in La Massana (the lift that takes you to Pal for racing) so can’t be in a better position. It is likely to be busy or completely full by now. The other is called Barri Antic which is above a great bar in Andorra La Vella.
You’re probably just as well to look at hotels. There’s the odd air bnb but not many. Arinsal would be a good place to look as would Ordino, Escalades or Andorra La Vella. Any of those will get you to La Massana in about 10 mins by bus.
One thing to consider that might extend your trip a little if you like all forms of cycling, La Vuelta comes to Andorra on the Monday and Tuesday straight after the World Cup. Monday’s stage finishes in Arinsal. Tuesday’s stage leaves from Andorra La Vella.
If you want any specific advice, let me know. I live in Andorra.
Thanks hammerrite. I may well tap you up for some local knowledge.
It was a trip within a trip so need to get back to the rest of the family.
