I acquired some rockshox tora 302 sl for nothing, i've stuck them on a charge blender as a 4x through to trail bike. I will be ragging it.

The spring top cap is plastic, will it shoot out and hit me in the face?

I know it will be designed with a good safety margin considering a extra firm spring at full compression, myself using a medium spring, the margin of safety must be massive.

I'll be fine, won't i?

Yes to all questions. You are too paranoid. It will shoot out and hit you in the face but you're missues will tell you that you look better after the reconstructive surgery. ๐Ÿ˜›

Actually saw that happen once, following a 6ft drop off to flat with some RS indy SL's. Great bruise in the middle of his forehead!

Happy memories!

you'll need full-face & goggles at all times - and an extra helmet for your bollocks as martymac implies

Could be a plastic cover on a metal cap?

Happened to me years ago with some Answer Manitou elastomer sprung forks. With proper springs you stand no chance!
