Hi, switched from a Fenix 5 to an edge 520 and it is all good except for the notifications. I have followed the instructions I can find and everything is turned on, but I get no notifications on the device - I just want calls and messages to come up so I can see if its the wife or whether it can be ignored!

What phone are you using?
I have an iPhone and have to have 'Name 520' and 'BLE_Name 520' both connected via bluetooth.
On the 520 go to Menu - Settings - Bluetooth and make sure Enable is turned on, that the 520 is connected to your smartphone and that Call and Text Alerts is turned on.

Now connected the BLE bit and looks like it is working, thank you! Turns out maybe I can't read instructions!
