I've had Oakleys, mostly flak jacket XLJs for the past few years but i've just lost my 2nd pair this morning outside work 🙄

is there any alternatives i could look at which aren't as expensive but still have decent (polarised) lenses?

Lidl's polarised sports glasses....Come in variety of tints for £3.99
(Normally when the fishing offers are on! The cycle ones they sell are non polarised)

Who cares if I lose them or if they get broken when I fall off (Still not broken my original pair but getting a few scratches now)

Foolish boy, Pinches, foolish boy!

I've just bought my second new pair of Oakleys in as many weeks. 😳

Then again, I'm not careless like you and I don't lose them. That would be my suggestion. There's no real alternative, so stop being so careless.

🙂

I use Bolle or Uvex safety specs - loads of choice for <£10 per pair, on ebay or from ARCO.. at that price they are basically disposable so go in the bin as soon as they get scratched/damaged.

I too enjoy the easy maintenance i.e. throw away joys of safety specs and there is an endless supply of them in the room next to me........currently using a new type of wrap around and they are tip top for mud protection duties

I've had a lense crack on me, but luckily not shatter, with 'cheap' sunnies (stone thrown up from front tyre)

My eyes are worth more than £3.99.

Oakleys all the way for me...

BLOC polarised are pretty good. Probably not as good as Oakley, but 3-4x cheaper.

Just bought some Bolle Contour clear for night riding, unused as yet but very light and optically great, much better than a crappy pair I bought years ago. They do them in various tints, look a bit roadie maybe not enough coverage for mtb? Their ESP lens looks like a good UK day riding lens too. I'm sold, depending on how badly they steam up or not.

Tifosi are pretty good - they do polarised and also Fototec (reactive) Polarised lenses which optically I've found to be better than my Bloc glasses.

Not too pricey plus they have a lifetime warranty on them.

Been using Tifosi all year. Very happy with them. Plenty of lens choices including photochromic polarised ones. Decent prices too.

Rudy Project, good value and the useful light range of the photo-chromatic lenses is very wide. Good fit as well.
