[Closed] Alpkit Pipedream - too tight?

My new bag arrived today and I excitedly rode home as fast I could to test it out but when I got inside it I found it very tight around the chest and neck which I found very restricting.

It measures 10cm less in width than my old Mountain Equipment back so I might have to send it back as I don't think I'll be able to get on with it.

How do others find theirs?

I'm a smidge under 6'2" slim but not skinny and it fits me, at a nice tightness. If I was my size and very broad or overweight it would be too tight.

If I lie on my back like a mummy then it's ok but I like to lie on my side, and I don't find tightness nice but find it constricting, Oh well each to their own, maybe it's just me then as I'm not overly broad or fat?

which weight did you go for? I got the PD250 and it is snug. I am decidedly 'average' in height/weight/BMI.

Unsure about the stitch-through design. It is somewhat more compact and lighter than my old Mountain Equipment bag though.

I like Alpkit's emphasis on the ratings:

Comfort +6.3ยบC (T comf)
Limit -1.5ยบC (T lim)
Extreme -13.5ยบC (T ext)*

* Please note the extreme rating is the temperature at which the average woman can remain for six hours without risk of DEATH from hypothermia - but can still sustain cold injuries - under EN13537 conditions. We do not recommend using this bag in these weather conditions.

I think it a personal thing as you say. Its not too bad for me, maybe I like to be swaddled!

I've got the 300 but they all seem to be the same dimension wise.

It's certainly lighter than my old bag but not that much smaller on pack size.

Looks like I'm going to have to get used to it as in my haste I left the box and packaging out in my office and the cleaners have binned it!
