Anyone had any experience of using Alltricks when stuff goes wrong? My Pike RC’s have developed the creaky CSU after 18 months to the point where it’s pretty obvious in use 🙁
If so, how long did they take to sort things and any stories with happy endings? I don’t really want to be forkless for a long time.
I know Sram stuff has a worldwide warranty but I don't have an LBS that I use, so no one to send them back on my behalf.
Yes, I bought a reverb from alltricks, and about 1 year in it started to sag. I contacted all tricks and they gave me the address to send it back to. I sent it back, and about 6 weeks later received a brand new reverb .
So all in all they did a decent job, a bit slow, but I did have a spare seatpost to use in the interim, so no problem really.
Funny enough I had the same issue with a Pike RC from them.
They gave me instructions for returning the fork, but then I realised it was the headset or something that was actually creaking. Fork is still going fine now.
Maybe this isn't much help, unless there's any alterantive creaks you haven't ruled out.
🙂
Thanks julians, that's not good, 6 weeks and no spare 650 forks!
chakaping, I'm 99% sure it's the forks, bike upside down with wheel out, flex legs in opposite directions and clicks/creaks away!
Same issue with a Pike RCT3 from Alltricks. They were pretty good to deal with actually, and I had my Pikes back in just under 4 weeks. They replaced the complete upper assembly and serviced the lowers fully. In the meantime I wasn't going to be without my MTB during a rare dry dusty trail period so I got carried away and bought some Fox 36s on 0% and sold the Pikes when they came back.
As we're still in the EU, they're no different to any company in the UK. Just contact retailer as first port of call and they should sort it. Otherwise via LBS or contact distributor direct.
wilko1999, It's got me thinking about a set of Lyrik's but they don't seem to come at 150mm standard, I'm no sure I want to drop £6-700 on a set that I don't really need and they might also be slight overkill on my Transition Scout 😀
I hear you. I've actually got a bit of buyers remorse now as the 36s aren't that much better than the Pikes. But I really didn't want to miss out on a month of summer riding, especially as I had no idea how long it would actually be until I got them back.
Think the main point of Lrik is a stiffer chassis than the Pike for longer travel applications, and a bigger negative spring - think you kind of negate both benefits by reducing travel
Why sent it back to Alltricks? Why not just send it back to Fisher via your nearest LBS with an account. They might charge you for postage (think it cost me a tenner) but much quicker.
I did this with a reverb, gave them a copy of the receipt and no issues at all. I also had a set of pikes which were under warranty and a seal went about 3 weeks before an Alps trip. The LBS put a note in with the forks to this effect, got a nice note back from Fisher saying they had the parts on back order but because they wouldn't be available in time for my trip they sent me a brand new set of pikes. Great service.
honourablegeorge, agreed to be honest, like I say, overkill!
warns74, it's one of those cases where I wish I had an LBS I used regularly, I've not found a local one that's much good to be honest.
Try taking the crown race off and giving it a clean and grease, There's been reports of Lyriks doing this on the capra owners thread on pinkbike, worth a try?.
Nobeerinthefridge - I'll give it a try tonight, definitely worth a try!
