I bought that model on ebay - the locking barrel simply fell out when I first used it

yeah we got one of those just for when its padlocked on the car as a slight deterrent for like mc ds and trail centre carpark opportunists. Its fairly easy to defeat the alarm fact though as the speaker holes are on the outside so you can just cover them over with your hand!
