Off to Afan on friday with the intension of doing Whites level and Skyline. The last time i was there a few sections on Skyline was shut for forestry works. Is it fully open or are sections still closed.

There are sections closed on Skyline, although I cannot remember which one.I was only reading it a few days back.

You could try doing W2 that combines Whites & The Wall.Much more interest.

I did Skyline last month, and even though the views were stunning the Ratio of Fire road / single track was very low.

I was there a month ago and did w2 in just over 3 hrs and with Penhydd being closed i was looking at adding skyline or a least part of it to make a full days riding. Is it worth doing some of skyline and using the short cut + whats the final descent like?

The final Down is great fun. Some rock steps at the top, but then, it's very much like the last section on whites.

You could do the single track climb on whites, then go right at the top.Follow the fire road for about two miles and you come to a cross roads.Go right down a bridle way and you'll come to the final decent for Skyline. then do W2?

Im working all weekend, so have a major cob on!

Just 'handy andy', very small section before grand canyon. I enjoyed skyline last weekend my first time. Just had to be done and I will be going back for more. Yes W2 level is more compressed single track but skyline has some great views and nice singletrack. I wasn't disappointed.
