Looking for a weekend away at either Afan or FoD. Friday/Saturday night.
Any suggestions for where to stay? Ideally want to be able to ride to the trails.
We're middle-aged and used to a modicum of comfort, so no bunk houses or tents. Self-catering place or pub B&B would do nicely. Decent food needs to be on-hand.
Can highly recommend http://afanlodge.com/ very nice & the gate at the bottom of the car park allows you to ride to the trails.

Plenty of places here in the FOd but suggest the village of Parkend as its a level 2 ish mile ride to the cycle centre, everywhere else being up the hill so a long ride back. 2 pubs, 1 great (food and beer) , the Fountain and the other not. The Fountain does have accomodation ,there are B&B's in the village. If you are CSMA member or maybe even if you are not look at Whitemead park.
