That'll be the chocolate starfish starting to twitch with nerves. Only a wet, rooty, off camber DH course to deal with! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜†

Where was that list of trail centres and A&Es?

It's not that bad, chances are you'll only be maimed. Good luck! Had to rule myself out of this one but will be at innerleithen and maybe kielder later in the year.

I'm checking the forecast to see if the weather will magically move.....

Also wondering if depending on the route I can get a cheeky tyre change in during transit from 4 to 5!!

Will def have some wet tyres ready for Quali on Saturday. Just need to calm the missus down now, she was all up for it then we walked the DH track on Saturday, hope to **** it's a sensible route or she may be on the war path

I'm heading up after work on Friday be the ones there BBQ'ing what ever the weather

1x Swampy 2.5
2x Wet Screams 2.1's
2x Minion DH's 2.5's
4x Minion 2.35's
and some High Rollers
Just need to stash them the levers and the track pump somewhere

Also lobbing in some goggles!

Should solve the what tyre question

Out of interest if there anything that says you have to use the same bike for qualifying and race?

Just go out and clear a path between a few of the switchbacks like those ballbags did last year, you'll save yourself loads of time.

I'm hoping to come up and photograph this year - not fit enough to race.

They are using the 'proper' DH course then? Interesting....

Think it says in the rules to use same frame, cockpit, shocks for quali and race. Quite wise not to include the quali time in the aggregate if everyone is going to turn up on DH bikes for Saturday... As for changing tyres mid race, hope thats a joke!?

Looking fwd to some good fun with my friends and to balls with folk thinking its F1.

Thats the name of the game, if it's between the tape it's on!

Although Nico Vouilloz might grumble...

Thought about the 2.5 super tackys for quali but as the time doesnt count I may as well get used to the sketchy tires I'll be racing on or at least find out how bad an idea they are...

From the Facebook Page

Steve Parr: We rode it the other week on trail bikes and it was great fun, have no fear the DH track will be tamed down for trail bikes

and
Steve Parr It'll be the DH track, but not quite as you recognise it usually ๐Ÿ˜‰

Think I'll stick with the summer tyres and just hang on and hope? Haven't got owt else to put on anyway.

It could be a shock riding anything damp after all this time! Maybe it'll change before then?

Dry, packed hard and lots of marbles and babies heads. It will be a puncture, tyre ripping fest ๐Ÿ™„
The thought had just gone through my mind as I was bouncing down Omega Man and fizz, bang, burst tube ๐Ÿ™„
Biked out from home, up to the trig/DH start, down the DH course. Then I pedalled along the forest road and up to the Face and Omega man.25ml round trip. A stop at the cafe, chat with Rob and Mary+some of her leek and tattie soup(yum). Also met Tally, Steve Parr, and Skinner who were just setting off to mark out the course.
If it is dry the DH course will be slippy due to the dust and marbles.
If it is wet it will be like riding in ice ๐Ÿ‘ฟ coming down the DH.
