My Meta 5 (2008 frame)flexes loads and I am hoping a Maxle will stiffen it up - cause thats what it says in the mags.
Has anyone converted to a rear Maxle and does its stiffen the rear up?
What do I need - a Maxle and new drop outs (interchangable on my Meta)?

Yes it makes a difference.

Yes you need a maxle and custom drop outs. Steve at Real Cycles was selling them.

alternatively, you may be able to convert more cheaply to a 10mm bolt through - depends on your hubs.

Thanks
I now have 12mm bolt through drop outs to bolt to my Meta and a Maxle 135 x 12mm on order.
What do I have to do to my Hope Pro II's?
Is it a new spindle and end caps? I have seen this on CRC.
What about new bearings?

Did you order the Maxle dropouts- Commencal do both 12mm bolt through dropouts, and 12mm Maxle dropouts- they are not the same!

As for the hub- its a new axle and caps. Bearings stay the same

Hi rockthreegozy

I am not sure what drop outs I got - they are like the ones I have already for QR but the vertical slot is replaced by a 12mm diameter hole.

The Maxle ones have a thread on the drive side dropout, and a plain 12mm hole on the non-drive.

The Maxle non-drive dropout is also different from the 12mm one.
