I have a set of these which I want to get working again for spares/ or to pass on to a mate if needed. The front brake hose has been cut and it has a 755 lever which used to be connected with a banjo type fitting. I believe I only need an olive and a bleed to get this brake ship shape again but I don't seem to be able to find anywhere to buy an olive for these brakes or are all shimano olives the same? The lever looks the same as the later xt 765 so could I connect it using a straight connector? The hose is sm-bh96 if this makes any difference. Cheers for any advice on this rather dull topic ๐
I have these and have recently overhauled them. I used a Hope olive. These brakes are very similar to hope mono 4 pots in many ways.
Yes all the olives are the same and yes you swap the banjo fitting with a straight one
If the lever is a banjo fitting then it needs a banjo-hose Shirley? No olive needed for a banjo.
If you see a Pirtek van, ask the driver. They have loads of hydro fittings.
