[Closed] Advice on decent budget 29er/CX wheels ??

I do a mixture of riding and have a good set of road wheels for my Kenisis Tripster but looking for a cheapish set of 29er / CX wheels for it so I can swap slicks to knobblies dependant on my route.

I mainly do farm tracks which can be rocky and crossed at 25mph+ and will be running 35mm Schwalbe Land Cruisers.

They don’t have to be light and I only really need an 11 speed rear, so have been looking as these options. Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding them –

DT SWISS R 24 SPLINE DISC

This seems like a decent wheel but only has 24 spokes

MAVIC CROSSRIDE FTS-X 29ers

Cheaper, bit heavier and only 24 spokes again

GIPIEMME ROCCIA EQUIPE

High spoke count and two wheels this time – seems to be ideal, but too good to be true ??

http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/WPGIROEQ/gipiemme-roccia-equipe-700c-29-inch-disc-wheelset

If there are any other alternatives I've not see I'd be glad to hear about them - thanks 🙂

There's a few options at Superstar in their clearance sections for road and mountain, typically starting at ~£150 for the pair.

http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/

If you go with them, double check for promo discount codes from the horizontal scrolling home page billboard before pulling the trigger eg. "25XS" off clearance wheelsets. 😉

My mate got some fulcrum racing discs for his ridley, they're rather nice for the cash.

25mph on a bridle way / farm track, we are indeed not worthy.

The DT Swiss are really nice. I have the R23s - same rims, nicer hubs.
The rims are good - been very strong and are all set up nicely for tubeless out of the box. The skewers are really good too, great mechanism on them.

I've got them on my CX which gets used on some pretty heavy going off road stuff and I've never had to touch them

Even more choice now !!

Have also seen the Shimano RX31 at £107 and Shimano RX010 at £72

This is too difficult .....

steve_b77 - 25+mph is only downhill, it's <5mph up them !! 😆

Any of these likely to fit a 9mm through axle? I'm thinking of changing wheels too.

The disc brake R24's can be converted to take 9mm Front and 10mm rear thru axles, according to the big Madison catalogue the end caps they need are code HBDTS3803S for the front and HBDTS6560S for the rear.
