Hello my Babs. A mate has offered me his steel 19 at a bargain price, too big for him you see. Now I'm currently running a 2007 trek 8500, it's a bit ragged but ok. It's sweet and fast. Any of you guys got a steel 19? Wondering how they go on fast singletrack? Heard mixed reviews.....

Ta luvs.

I own one. It rides extremely well. I sold my full suss when i bought it, feels great on singletrack and is nimble. One of the only bikes i have owned that just feels right . The weight comes in at 27.5-28lbs but it really doesn't feel as heavy as it looks on paper. It really is a true jack of all trades in my opinion.

I assume you will try it out first you'll be able to decide for yourself then.

Thanks for that bigbloke. It's frame only, so will have to buy 120mm forks. I did have a spin, but matey had 100 mm forks on, didn't feel 'slack', wrong forks I guess, stuffs up the geo...
