[Closed] Advice needed on 1x Chainring offsets

I need to replace my chainring.  I currently have a Sram x01  chain ring. Historically my BB was a Sram gxp.  When I replaced that with a Hope BB and gxp adapters the chainring started rubbing on the upper chain guide.  I ended up buying a new chain guide and with no spacers there is just about clearance when I am in the big cog at the rear.  I have just discovered that direct mount chainrings come with varying offset and for gpx bb I need 6mm.  Now I have the Hope BB should I get the 0mm offset chainring and was this the issue with the fit of the old chain guide?
