I have a Shimano M770/771 3x10 chainset which I want to convert to 1x10.
I have a Hope 32t retainer ring which I assume goes in the middle ring position?
To tidy things up I was considering fitting a Hope bash guard - I assume this will fit OK in the outer ring position?
Please can someone confirm I'm right.

Yup. Sounds right. Avoids new chainring bolts too

Depending on the bike I'd still consider a bash to protect the ring/chain from rock strike etc though depends on the BB height and ring size etc.
