Help me decide, pros and cons?

For me lever should be more consistent, less to damage.

Remote better in 'emergency' but more maintenance/cable stiction perhaps.

How often does the emergency occur?

Remote is the answer I've a Joplin4 with a remote wouldn't fancy riding a gnarley bit and thinking I need to drop my seat and taking a hand off the bar.

has to be worth the saving in potential dental bills???

cable maintenance is a doddle just like changing an ol' school bmx brake 😉

100% remote! For any trail you don't know and even those you do it makes a world of difference. When a trail is technical enough to warrant dropping the saddle do you really want to take a hand off the bars?

Remote, I bought a lever version and within the first ride realised the remote would be handy, and added one as soon as I got the chance.

The biggest benefit of adjustable is being able to adjust them to whatever height, whenever you want. Lever just restricts when you can do it. harder to be precise with height changes too I found.

I have one of each and the main thing in my opinion why a remote wins is the ability to raise the post again when you come out of a technical section straight into an uphill, where you don't want to be taking easy in order to reach for the lever.

GD Multi here, as Twelveski says, being able to get it back up to normal height quickly, is as much use as dropping it quickly in the first place.
They do make your riding more flowing, no "faffing" to stop and drop!
Remote wins every time.

any news on weather the joplin 4 are any better than the original.

i was going to plump for one of the early ones at just over £100.00 on crc but was told not to bother.

i like the reverb but has anyone managed to shorten there hoses yet as the standard cable is massive.

i wont consider a ks as my first one died after 3 rides..not impressed although i did get a full refund .
