Basically just want to check the pressure and maybe add some air to my forks, am I right in thinking this is possible with the aforementioned forks and if so how??

unscrew cap on top of fork leg. screw on shock pump and check. bobs your uncle and fanny's your aunt !!!

Well it's got lock out on right leg and preload on left??
How would I know if its a coil?

If its got a preload knob then its a coil spring fork not air.
Turning the preload knob towards + will make them a bit stiffer initially.
