On the plus side it looks like Steve got a much better second run in than his first. It total 5 runs in 3 days and puts it in the top 10. Respect.

Just updating the Shomano BDS marshal brief now and adding, 'Do not let spectators take an injured riders bike down the course or hill. Request BDS track maintenance to transport the bike back to race registration.

Just watched the womens couple of nasty falls on the rock section.
If true, the poor bastard.
Sickening in two ways.
1. This poor guy could have a life changing injury
2. The comments being hurled around on the web. All with little regard that a human being could be seriously injured.

Whilst the guy who "took" the bike was an idiot, i hope he recovers fully! It just shows eh, even the "easy" bits of a pukka worlds DH course can bite you. Ouch!
Having just watched the replay of the event, some of the riding on the slippy, rooty off camber bits was proper, proper sketchy! Watch Gee's run, and he's literally a milesecond from binning it at the end of the "alien tree" section. Hero to Zero in less than a second. Those guys, and girls are GOOD, really, really good 😉

Nice to see Brayton and Peaty pouring oil on this, the boy did something daft but he didn't mean any harm. On another day he might have ended up an internet legend, the spectator who rode a world cup.

fixable yes but he was on the phone to Steve Peat at the time, you got to act tough when he's on the phone.

I asked a Marshall at Ft Bill once what would happen if, that happened, and got told the fans would stop the rider......

Also, Braytons actual crash. Holyshit.
The proper update (from peaty and brayton) was the guy got the bike was mate of a marshall and was going to walk it down for him to the pits, decided to ride it when the red flags were out (from pink bike there may have been an extra one due to a snake on track - nothing to do with Bryceland) So during the red flag he must have got on and ridden down, peaty was held at the top under the red flag then set off and there was another red flag due to this guy smashing himself.
No word as to how much XXXX gold was involved.
What a weekend of racing 😯
