Whats Bennachie and Pitfichie looking like just now? I was in Kirkhill/Elrick this week and theyre still wrecked from last Novembers storms.

Hoping to do Pitfichie and Millstone/Bennachie combo soon. But dont want to rock up if im forever turning back and/or carrying my bike over trees.....

Millstone shoulder from Don view won't be much fun on a bike.

I've run it a number of times the last few months and it's a hurdle fest.

Bennachie it's self is largely fine with only 1 or 2 trees down outside of the carparks (I've run a serious amoubt of the high paths of out and back along the Gordon way from Don view via bennachie centre etc )

Not been on pitfichie at all though

I used to stay in Aberdeenshire (dont any more) but up there during the week sometimes for work.

I would normally park at Chapel of Garioch or Inverurie, and roady to Donview, up over Millstone, Down then up the firetracks to the Oxen Craig road (up the really steep 'Landy track of Doom', then go to the base of Mither Tap, then down to Rowan Tree and back.

I never used to go down the downhill trails at pitfichie, normally Cairn William etc.

So sounds like its worth visiting both still.

Pitfichie trails off Green Hill and Cairn William are running fine - including the new one Slippy Willy). All a bit soggy last week but should be drying nicely.

Bennachie and Millstone is pretty much all open. Donview straight up the hill is a problem but Brian Blessed and Medical are clear and running well. Something like Strava Activity is running well.
