A quick 29er/700C question.. In fact a stupid question???

Ok so I want to swap the wheels on my Surly Crosscheck (currently fixed) can I bang a set of 29er wheels on, and still run my existing 700c tyres on them?

Providing the rims ain't too wide for the tyres, don't see why you can't...

29er MTB rims are just wider/stronger 700c rims. They both have an OD of 622mm
