Following on from the earlier thread where hoppy jr learnt to ride he's been busy riding I to school and playing on the BMX track. Due to his slick tyres on the belter he's had front wheel washouts in the mud and he was asking whether he could have some tyres like mine.

Bought some proper knobblies for him yesterday and this evening we fitted them. He did the spannering and pumping with me just helping where it was a bit too hard. Did do it in the dining room and then he needed to try them out immediately so was late to bed so we're both in the doghouse from Mrs hoppy but it's all worth it.

He now wants to go up a proper mountain.

Ah, bless him.
That's what is all about. Amazing how it's the simple things in life that are the things you remember when you're older.

He's already more mechanically competent than Mrs hoppy.

Fixing stuff with my Dad is what I remember and cherish most from my childhood 8)
