I'm not jealous. ๐
Looks awesome.
Nice. Where was that? Did you go with a guiding company?
Looks like Chamonix?
Great pics btw
nick - great photos... I was on the 'holy' trail 2 weeks ago... didnt think many people had ridden that... did anyone clean it?
epic ride. about as technical as it gets.
-edit- yes it is in cham.
Neil.
Cracking set of pics that ๐
Where did you find a photographer who could fly? ๐
looks reeeeeeally boring...bet you were glad to get home
A mixture of Chamonix and around the Grand massif. All self guided with abit of internet research and a map its amazing what you can find!
Neil, yes the Holy trail is amazing - what a full on tech fest!! Not sure any of us cleaned it really!
Mr agreeable, he just managed to up clip, could have been nasty!!
It was the UFO in the top left of the shot that put him off his stroke ๐
I'm off to the Alps next week and I'm SOOOOOO Exited!!!
Looks fantastic. How does the grading of the rides on the Grand Massif compare to Les Gets and Morzine. I got the VTT map for the area when I was in Samoens, last month but didn't get a chance to ride there - was considering heading that direction next trip - like the look of the pictures I have seen of the Desert de Plate - the map show a red grade route from the top of the chairlift that starts in Flaine
Looks fantastic. I must go back to the Alps next year ๐ฎ
These pics are amazing, best to have been posted on here for some time.
Think next year's Alps trip might be veering toward Chamonix now.
yep superb pics, really very special. you ought to send them to howies and bag the next three years worth of photo comps. at least write it up and send it to the mag.
Cracking pics. I loves is there.
Jammy git ๐
I was up there a few years ago, it is awesome.
Amazing pictures - what camera were you using?
Flatlander - the VTT map is fairly hit and miss to be honest. Some of the tracks are good,ie singletrack, others are just long fireroads... ๐
Its worth just going to the top of Flaine for the views alone....
foolishmiracles - just a Lumix TZ-5, but a great little camera..
best pics on here for ages
WOW!!! ๐
nick... yer... cant wait to get back there... have you done the left turn at the hut on that trail... that is steep. makes 47 switchbacks look like a piece of piss.
cham is the best place to go for riding in the alps... just cant get board of riding there...
Neil, yes the riding is amazing - Not done that run from the Bellachat refuge.
Great pics there. They give a really good perspective of the scale of the place- I could feel the vertigo coming over me in a few of them.
Some headcam footage we took [url]
I find just watching that scary.
Great stoppie at the first hairpin!
Awesome footage - gives a great impression of the trail. Those hairpins look tight!
Great pictures. What is this "Holy" trail you speak of?
Our pictures don't rank in comparison but they are here anyway.

wow, great pics. friend at work invited me on their alps holiday today................this may have helped my decision!
Awesome pics, trueley awesome havent seen any this good for a long long time.
I always forget why I live in Switzerland ๐
Thats Brevent yeah? Gonna go there in 2 weeks because of YOU. LOOKS FREAKING AMAZING!
I'm just back from Chamonix. I did a couple of days in Portes du Soleil but I found the natural stuff in Chamonix much more enjoyable. I did most of the stuff peasnotwar suggested and a bit of exploring. The French National Survey (blue) maps and a lift timetable are all that you need. I ended up walking one section from Flegere down to Les Tines, you are better taking the Petit Balcon back towards Cham. There is a great descent from Col de Balme to Trient on one of the GR5 varients. Le Tour and Les Houches are both worth exploring.
I didn't experience any difficulties with walkers, although nearly all the tracks are technically off-limits. Stop or slow right down and say Bonjour, Merci etc and they are usually very friendly. One old woman told me off, I said sorry, and as I was riding away her friend was pointing out that I had stopped and said hello etc.
RHS, mostly Brevent and the Giffre Valley.
Old Giffre Valley? See what I did there?
Can't wait to have a bash
I hate you . ๐
