I have a spare slx 10 speed cassette. Will it work where I have had a 9 speed slx cassette and 9 speed chain? Will it necessitate adjusting the gears and getting a new chain?

not unless you change the shifter

And the rear mech, and yes, you'll need a new chain.
They're not a straight swap if that's what you mean - they're the same overall width, so you can't run a 10 speed cassette and use your 9 speed bits to only use 9 sprockets of it.

Yep, thought so. I've just ordered another 9spd cassette. Idiotic question but worth a try. Thanks for the advice.
