talk to Windwave - they probably need rebushing. They're pretty good for pricing on service stuff like this, too.

A bit of play could be normal.

Are they leaking oil ? (if so then a seal service and bushing check required)

My old bombers have slight play in the bushings. I had mine TF tuned after a few years of racing on them.
Tim asked if i noticed any play while riding, can't say i had, i only noticed a bit of play when rocking the bike with front brake on.
A bit of slack was considered normal, the bushings where checked for size and within useable range.
Tim said they could put in new ones if i wanted, but they might not be any better. That was 2009, forks are still going strong, seals are fine, do my own oil changes now, learnt a lot from one pro-service ๐Ÿ™‚

If in doubt +1 with wwaswas and windwave as they import them, couple of tuners on here "loco" or call TF tuned, or anyone local to you who knows their way around a 66 fork, ask them.

Not 08/09 or have ATA as QC on those back then was shocking, think the normal 66RC range with no fancy extra gimmicks where pretty reliable through that period.

they're the ata ones so that might be my problem. windwave have quoted me 80 quid for service and bushings, if they can do just the bushings for cheaper i'll send the lowers and then give them a service myself, otherwise might look at picking up some domains, half a kg lighter and can find them for less than 150 squids...
cheers for the advice all!

I don't get who'd want to adjust the travel down to 140mm on some 3.4kg 38mm stanchion freeride forks by the way..
