Hey all,

Needing some help attempting to change my frame bearings, Main pivot 6001 was easy however the rocker and swingarm have 628 bearing size and although i've bought a cheap puller and press from https://www.bearingprotools.com/ they just are not up to the job. The puller threaded on the first go and although I managed to bodge the press into something to remove the bearings from the rocker, i'm stuck.

So could anyone recommend the proper tools from the job? the 628 bearing are still in the swingarm and i need something to press them into the rocker(and swingarm once removed)....but I dont seem to be able to find the right thing. Happy to pay money for the right tools, as I dont trust myself to just wack bearings in freehand.

They look like nice tools but I don't see 628 bearing number mentioned anywhere.

I think the puller might work, as its does down 8mm. Not sure the bearing press will? It seems to be for larger bearings.

The 628 is a smaller bearing 8x24x8mm https://www.hendersonbearings.co.uk/628-llumax-enduro-bicycle-max-load-mtb-pivot-bearing-abec3-8x24x8mm.html

Is it an unusual size on bikes or something?

I've used a cut off piece of an old seatpost with an ID slightly bigger than the bearing, a bearing press disc the same OD as the bearing and used an m8 bolt, nuts and big thick washers, it worked great for pulling and pressing.

@dumbbot I've just emailed you, I can make you a specific tool for the job, both pulls them out and presses them back in....
