I'm looking to get a bike carrier for the back of a Mondeo estate.

I don't want a roof one as it needs to be easy for my wife to use.

I don't have a tow bar but if the best racks necessitate one then that may be an option, I want something solid that's not going to jiggle around and strip paint off the car.

Recommendations please?

I want something solid that's not going to jiggle around and strip paint off the car.

Then a towbar one it is!

I have one for my Mondeo estate (although most of the time they just go in the boot). The only disadvantage is that it is pretty heavy (well mine is) so not sure how your wife would get on fitting it, unless she looks like this:

Sounds familiar ... Did we have a chat about this in Hassop car park?
