all frame tubes vary, but its an aluminum frame full suss, so what would you recon?

Aye, if it's a Trek it's an unusual diamter, 36.4 or sommat. Of the main sizes it's only going to be 34.9

Usually its 34.9mm but best check. Could ask in Halfords, they should know 😉
