Hi folks, I have just purchased a 2x10 X0 crankset and was wondering if I can work this successfully with the brand new X0 short cage mech I bought last week ?
Ah, the joys of being indecisive.
Any one done this without problems or is it as I suspect , a case of compromise or should I just grit my teeth and buy a medium cage ?

Might need a medium cage for running two rings up front, to take up the chain slack when in the granny.
long for triple
medium for double
short for single

Friend of mine uses a short cage Zee on his Blur lt 29. I think the gearing is 24 32 front with a 11-36 rear, works fine.
Obviously I know the official line re short, med, long. What I am after is real life experience of trying with a short cage and it either working or not.
This will be going on a new 2013 Mega when it arrives
how big is your big ring? that will be a factor
