Is there such a frame out there, steel 29er with a tapered headtube ?
The Cotic Solaris is due to have one or a 44mm headtube but not available unitl mid next year.
Anything else ? 🙄

El M 2 has a 44 mm headtube not tapered. 😉

But im guessing a 44mm tube could accept a tapered fork with the right headset ?

The boys at 18 have got tapered steel headtubes.....spendy though.
