Transition or the salsa.

Purely cos they look good and aren't overpriced (IMHO) bits of welded & poorly welded (appearance) sheet metal

Horsethief for me soon (hopefully- kind of) as i think i've just found a crack in my Salsa Big Mama just within the 3 year warranty.....

Reviews are good and if it's even better than the Big Mama then it'll be great. Good value too, i found one today from a German site for around £820.

What happened to the Ragley one, it looked promising?

I don't think there is a bad 29er full susser frame on the market and all the above would be a great choice. I made a choice last month and finished up getting a Kona Hei Hei 29er frame and I love it and typically, what ever you go for, you won't see many out there what ever you finish up with!
The Salsa at £820 sounds too good to be true so I would be hovering over that buy button! 😉

There's a Bandit test bike doing the rounds ATM.

It'll be in my neck of the woods next week. 😉

Ringo.
What part are you missing from your build?

West Mids.

Any LBS that stock Transition should be able to book it for you though.

Think they have a large and a medium.

That Ragley looks really nice! Reminds me of a beefy Anthem, which isn't a bad thing.

You must be able to bodge something up. Dodgy hose routing until you can get it sorted maybe?

Any pictures of it?

Bandit! Rode a demo and it's ace. Pedals in Edinburgh have one in m if you're near.

I like the look of the Rocky Mountain Element 950 29. I think the middle range model comes with a Revelation fork that can adjust up to 120mm. Good review in Bike magazine this month.

I agree with many of the comments above that there are many quality bikes in this category at the moment - actually I can't think of one that I would exclude due to quality or expected performance issues.
I think you need to decide what you want from the bike.
Some of them out there are more suited to the extreme gnar like the transition or Niner WFO whilst others will be better suited for long epics like the tallboy or superlight.
I ride a Niner RIP9 which I love and would buy again as it suits the techy rocky trails that south Wales offers and also does long all day mountain epics which is what I mainly do.
I think you need to tell us what kind of riding you intend to mainly do to get better recommendations.
