I want to buy a level entry 29'er MTB hard tail for around the £1000 mark for riding trails around kent(not a very technical area). Which of these would you choose? any other recommends/advice greatly appreciated.

Honestly? I'd look at the Trek Cobia. It's the same frame, so same riding characteristics, but £400 cheaper. I ride a 29er here in Kent and it's the perfect bike for these parts.
