I’ve been trying 29 x 2.6 Schwalbes (MM and HD)on 35mm inner rims recently. For reference this is on a HT with a 150mm Lyrik.
In comparison to the 2.5 Assegai and 2.4 DHR2 they seem to be a step too far in size and are a bit unwieldy.
I was wondering if anyone else has been riding 29x2.6 on wide rims and what they thought of it?
29*2.6 on 27mm rims on a 140mm hard tail.
I thought they fitted real nice
They must be wider in 29 flavour, my 650b 2.6 MM is the same size as my mates 2.5 assegai.
Not unweildy either, it's a great tyre!.
Not that it massively helps with the question, but I went with 2.35 HD on 35mm inner width rims as I was thinking the Schwalbe 2.6 might come up big (also in Supergravity, weight). The 2.35 fit fine on 35mm with a good tyre profile, so I suspect they might blow up a bit bigger than other brands still.
The MM and HD come up at 66mm wide on my 35mm rims
that's only a couple of mm shy of a DHR 2.8 on a 40 or 35 internal.
You're right. I have a 2.8 DHF and DHR2 on 40mm inner rims and they come in at 69mm.
Running 2.5" & 2.4" MINIONS on 24.5mm inner with lovely profile fine here
