Another one of those tyre threads. Just thought I’d share my experience of some Vee Rubber Traxx Fatty 3.0 27.5 tyres, and see if anyone has any comparisons.
I’ve haven’t ridden them much, but I found that they self steer quite a lot on the road. They are also very draggy and make a lot of noise, but I guess this is to be expected but my fat bike tyres seem to be less so. They are running tubeless.
Off road, grip is so far so good, but it has been very dry, but they seem a little reluctant to turn, often catching me out and I rapidly approach the scenery, needing a big lean of the bike to bring it back. So I get self steer, then no steer! Is this normal? They are nice and plush though and seem to ignore bumps and roots.
Question is, are there better options out there? I’ve got my eyes on some Schwalbe nobby nic 3.0 tyres. Any experience of these - self steer, etc? Should I run them front and back or maybe I’ll just put one on the front?
