I'm looking for the moon on a stick it seems, mainly a 26" rear wheel with HG/XD driver, non boost 142x12 and decently strong and decent internal width/ 6 bolt. (looking for a friend as I'm having to steal back my 26" wheel on loan)

Budget is important and used preferable buy any deals new or anyone got one sat around they want to sell?? I'd consider a pair as my jack flash is badly in need of a new front rim as well.

Rider is 60kg fully kitted up so not looking for full DH spec but something to hammer something like rim dinger or land a jump a bit sideways without worrying the wheel is going to just fold in half.

I've looked about from eBay and FB to classifieds on here and I'm seeing XC or 150mm DH or really old 1st gen disk type rims.

Sounds like a pretty uncommon combo of old and new (ish) standards to me. But something with a Hope hub you can switch axles (and driver if need be) shouldn't be too hard to find? Pro 2 Evo and newer should work.

It must have been reasonably common for at least a few years... but yeah. A pretty short window.
It's almost not worth changing driver on a Hope or DT Swiss hub vs just buying a rim and spokes and building one off her 27.5 hub ... but we have both HG and XD 11sp cassettes so can be more flexible.

Does a Stans Flow on a Hope hub fit the bill? Change out the driver and you're left with a wheel I used to run for years giving all kinds of abuse and never had an issue...

Could do you a pair of DT240s on WTB KOMi25s with Sapim D-lights. Built by me.

Rims are 26"/25mm internal. 15mm front hub, 148x12 rear with an XD driver. Ratchet upgraded to more POE but I can't remember how many.

The rims are softish - dink relatively easily, but stay round and spanner out again equally easily.(arguably a better solution than pinch flatting!)

Message me through the site if interested.

Superstar still have some 26" rims in stock at 70% off. Mainly white ones though, but much cheapness. I just got a pair of Tactics which I'll build up in due course. No idea how good they are, but for £23.99 a pair posted who gives? 😁

yep.. that would do.

Probably fill the gap until she can afford a rim and spokes... 240's sounds expensive though

I as looking at those and it's stupid cheap when you buy 2 😉 its really if it's worth it with new spokes and nipples.

They are fairly cheese like but at the price it's acceptable...(I got some for £100 in 27.5 and they were OK... they bend back better than the WTB in my experience).

Anything by WTB and the Superstar Tactic... WTB is a special hard/soft cheese.. most soft rims bend back easier but WTB has the spokes come through and bends and strain hardens at the same time. Kid had one for 2 rides after which it was totally destroyed (2 spokes through rim and the the rest of the rim dented) He was 35kg at the time!!!

What's a first gen disc rim?

I'd go with what I always do, Mavic D321/EX729 or a D521/EX721. Unfashionably thin (more so the 721) and I'm sure some princesses that are legumally challenged would say they are unrideable but they build into solid wheels and can take a good beating.

The Tactic rims are a bit cheese-like, but you can buy a decent insert with the savings to protect it.

You might have to do a bit of sawing and re-joining if they don't make inserts in 26in though.

I have a set of Hope Pro 2 (iirc) with Stans Arch EX in white.
Not the prettiest of condition but would be ok I guess.

Drop me a message if interested.

Welcome to come have a look if around Leicester area.

Tictac rims arrived today.

Incredible service from Superstar... or Pure Racing as the tape on the box said.

I needed 26" wheels recently, got a set from fitwheels, Flow EX on DT 370s, got upgraded to 350 front free, they were cheap, arrived fast and look great

Fir Impes. Only had to show it a rough trail and it would crack.
