As title really. I'm thinking I fancy doing one solo and only really know about mayhem and sleepless in the saddle.

What else is out there and when in the year?

SiTS is no more. 24/12 and Strathpuffer are the other obvious ones.

Relentless and the Strathpuffer are the best ones.

Mountain Mayhem
24/12

Many of the English ones are a slog around grim terrain not built for mountain bikes. I have grim memories of mud and slop from them. Relentless is superb, trails that are exciting, hilly and hard but will withstand 24 hours of riders going over them. I'd start there, after some 12 hour races, them work up to the Puffer if they do any more.

The new one is called "endure saddle sore" somewhere near Brighton I think.

"Many of the English ones"? There's only 2 that are running , 3 with this new "endure" one,but that's an unknown at the moment. I wouldn't describe Newnham as grim terrain either. Fantastic event with a great course. Pretty sure the puffer gets a bit muddy as well.

SITS 2008 for me had the same psychological effect as the Vietnam war on a US veteran.

Bonty 24/12 is a decent course. Far better than the shit fest that was Mayhem 2012!

Thanks for the replies. I rode mayhem as a team of four the first year it was at 'anns gaff' and didn't find the course too inspiring!

Will look into the other

Cheers
