[Closed] 2.4 Ardent - will it fit a 2007 Reba?

Thinking of putting the above tyre on the front of my hard-tail. I have a 2.25 Ardent, which I think is great for a balance grip, balance and easy rolling. Think a new high roller 2 up front might be overkill.

Anyone know if it will fit?

Thanks, I think my forks are slightly older, but hope the fork brace will be the same size.

Do you find them ok for xc riding (i.e. not too draggy) and do they cause any issue with clearance of stones etc?

Bloomin nora that is a tight fit!!!

It wouldn't take much for you to pick up a stone or branch and jam it in the arch of your forks and do some real damage to you or your forks. Or even carcha stone in the tyre and ping it off the stantion of the fork.

I've ridden with a 2.25 ardent up front and it pretty big it is about the same as a 2.35 High Roller (the original one) that i've also used.

My personal thought is i wouldn't be any bigger than the 2.25 ardent size on a trail bike.

it was definitely too big on the reba....but then I was trying to basically AM+ a XC bike ๐Ÿ™‚

I personally love the Ardents, a love it or hate it tyre for sure. The 2.4 is miles better than the 2.25 as its side knobs are much more aggressive.
Its still a Jesus tyre though....as in you have to lean it so far over to grip that you are praying to jesus the damn thing grabs or else you will be eating dirt.
It slides beautifully so two wheel drifts are everywhere and it rolls fast. Its not a tyre if you like to mince around and not fully committing into corners and getting the tyre onto its edge. There isnt much nobbling going on between edge and centre knobs so tends to feel vague unless fully leaned.

I loved it but many hate it. Its fast and sketchy....just how I like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Might knock that idea on the head then - love the idea of a big fat tyre to add comfort, but don't want to screw things up. Will stick with 2.25.

I also don't have the cojones to lean it far enough owner to get the best out of the grip whilst cornering. I like to think I do, but I don't.

Vikingboy pretty much summed it all up there. I used to love high rollers on the front till I got one of these. Huge volume but great grip and very predictable slide, but does require commitment much like a high roller. It's like night and day better than the 2.25 ardent. I run mine about 22psi.

I have it in a 130mm recon and it's not as tight as that pic up there (but I wish there was more clearance), or I find it great when I have the rigid forks on too.

Anybody know if the 2.4 29er variety will fit in a 120 Reba?

I've got 29er 2.4 Ardent in 100 Reba so I daresay it'll be ok. Not a huge amount of room for the Neoguard straps but they don't rub so that's ok.
