Fitted what I was assured was a 160mm and I have 26mm stanchion below the 10% sag marker for 160mm travel. This suggests to me it is actually a 170.

Old one (150 I think) is marked 060 near the foot nut and I'm 99% sure they sat at 150mm.This one is marked 070.

Anyone confirm what's going on here?

No idea, but surely you can just measure the travel at full extension to work out if it’s 160 or 170? Or am I missing something?

I got distracted by some stubborn frame bearings so I will re-visit tomorrow.

I was hoping someone could confirm codes but I am pretty confident it's a 170 🙁

If it’s a 170 for 650b, I could be interested if you need to sell it.

Well I think they are the same for 27.5/29 so will PM if spare! When I had Yaris I'm pretty sure there was a longer code which tied in with travel etc but I only spotted the short code today.

Anyone got one to hand that they know the details of?

I’ve got 3 spare air shafts in my cabinet, including one marked 070. Problem is I’ve now totally confused myself about which springs I’ve put into my 3 sets of forks 🤣. So I’m now very interested to know what an 070 equates to!

I replaced the spring in my 2020 160 Lyriks recently. Just had a look at the old one and it has "060" printed at the foot. To confirm, maybe measure its length and look up the drawings, which are online somewhere with dims although I can't immediately see them.

Luket, what's the overall length on your 160 please?

I think they will need to be stripped down again tomorrow to get to the bottom of this!

Was the air shaft fully extended when you put the lowers back on?
Make sure the seal head is just below the circlip then pressurise the chamber a bit before fitting the lowers.
Might be that??

Why would the air shaft not being fully extended on assembly then give more travel on pressurising?

Seal head was definetly in the right place and footnuts met the lowers as per usual, torqued to spec etc.

Talk to Mat at J tech. I've found their customer service to be excellent. Highly recommended.

Cheers, will contact J-tech if I can't work it out myself.

shockcraft

This gives me some dimensions so I can at least work out what was in there originally and now with a bit of luck.

Total end to end fully assembled length of my "060" marked 2020 is 263mm.

Best guess mine does measure up at 10mm shorter than the shockcraft drawing.

070 is 150mm
060 is 160mm

On a 2019+ Lyrik.

Quite why they don't print the actual part number, or atleast the back end of it is bizaar, then it is the bike industry!

They used to have the part number.

First thing I did today was compress them a few times and hey presto sitting where they should be. Guess the negative didn't charge properly yesterday.

Thanks for the input all

That makes sense to me too as I swapped a 150 out and put a 160 in when I mulleted my Whyte, hence I have an 070 in the spares draw. Love that pdf by the way...

I had this on my pike and it turned out I had the incorrect air shaft.

I was sent an A1 shaft but needed one for a B1 spec pike.
