All the info is up on Pinkbike.
The have made it a really big bike now.
@alanm: yes - thanks! Great thread!
I love this type of stuff - but some get really mad. I like to bitch about such advertisement hype and still enjoy the fuss.
Haha
Cheers!

Super enduro plus madness, You can run a triple crown fork on them but not have a bottle cage.
XXL size, 500 reach, 490 st. Just like the game of thrones writers they're listening to the keyboard warriors
Blimey 170mm 29er! That's a lot of travel!
Large still looks a little short at 615? Hard to see as the site is slow on my phone.
Even the cheapest heaviest model is only 31.7lb. Pretty good going for a Aluminium 160mm 29er
Bit underwhelmed TBH. I was thinking the Capra might make my enduro bike shortlist and was looking forward to seeing the new bike. Other than the blood red colour the 29 CF Pro is a little disappointing. For just under £4k you get Fox performance forks and shock and 1x11 with the e13 cassette which is about twice the price of the GX eagle cassette. So something you have to replace fairly regularly. Looks like it still has the pressfit BB too.
I have a feeling we will see a lot of 29er 170mm shred sleds round the back of nationwide in Swindon. that's a lot of of travel for bimbling

Absolutely right....Alan Apologies, you were the OP I was referring to Andrea's comments....
Deepest apologies as all you had done was post the bloody link....Sorry
Think the 29er is only 170mm in the pro race version. The 27s are all 170mm

Id say that was a fairly amazing weight, if true
180mm, blooming heck.
I try not to get too hung up on the travel, but that’s an awful lot, I’m sure they’ll sell loads, but I can’t think of many places where that sort of travel wouldn’t be a bit of a fun killer that don’t have a lift network where you might at well go full retard with a Tues.
Jeffsy still looks the better bike to me.
Fairly conservative middle of the road geometry, plenty of travel. I'm sure they will sell loads.
The sizing difference between the carbon and alloy frames is odd. It's as if they had the carbon moulds made then decided to go a bit longer.
Disappointed there is no higher spec AL bikes too.
I'd rather have an aluminium frame and Fox elite suspension than a CF frame with the performance versions.
The best bargain looks to be the base model 29er, £2.2k with a lyrik and super-deluxe, code brakes and a dropper.
The 9-46 cassette range is plenty and the SLX transmission may be more reliable than Eagle.
Personally I'd have liked to see longer chainstays (or a flip chip), but otherwise there's not much to moan about really.
The Capra 29 CF is 160 front and rear travel from what i can see? 650b is 170/170 guess the race is slightly longer. Reach figure looks OK... looks like a price hike as well of around £500 still pretty good value at £3300 for the CF model. Still looks like too much bike certainly for me anyway
Very good write-up by Mick Kirkman on Dirt...

I wonder whether the niggles he has with the 29er might be partly to do with the BB height. Looked a bit high on the geo chart.
"I can’t be bothered to watch the video but interested in the new bikes. I’d have watched gwin or Andreu riding the tits off it though, perhaps they were busy."
Exactly.
Watched the first two minutes of the video… got bored… moved on. Good looking bikes as always… but the photos told me that…
No probs Russyh, glad I got a 29er Jeffsy instead of waiting for the Capra, far to much travel for me.
How would you fit a bottle in and have a shock that long?
You can't fit a bottle in a Capra, well I couldn't anyway.
@alanm, @russyh:
all fine. I understand the post from russyh now. Yes - I was the guy who was ranting...- not alanm...
Hope I didn't hurt any feelings so. Like the bikes and don't like the advertisement. But that's history now - the spec is out...
Cheers!
Alan, i just sold my jeffsy, To be honest if i had not of just blown my wad on a hightower i would be all over the mid spec Capra right up 29er 160 front and rear.....until i noticed there was no bottle mount. Probably too much bike for me i guess.
@chiefgrooveguru - its not that big a shock. Same size we run on the 145/145 LT/AM9. Probably helps if you don't stick it right in the middle of the front triangle though.
Does everyone here ride with a bottle? I occasionally do but I'd say 90% of riders I meet don't even have a bottle cage mounted.
I think the 29er looks good.
I would for all-day summer epics - especially remote ones, because I use a filter bottle to save on carrying loads.Does everyone here ride with a bottle? I occasionally do but I’d say 90% of riders I meet don’t even have a bottle cage mounted.
@benpinnick It’s the same size as your flock on the 29 but the 27.5 is a 250x75 or 70
Ha! Fair enough that ones a beastie.
Not a friend at all of the YT media crap.
But appears like the YT engineers did a wonderful Job. The important reviewers all got 2018 Capra bikes to test ride in the mountains of Portugal. The reviews were published yesterday. Read a couple of them ... the only issue they found: the bottle thing.
Well - and beside of that: they are all heavily impressed! If these reviews are right the 2018 Capra will be a hot seller and will put the competition under lots of pressure. Pricing: in some of the reviews they state that YT stays with the Capra at least 25 % under the price tag of the bigger brands - and more so with the high end versions.
The 170 mm or more travel range (and this strange YT advertisement hype) is nothing for me - but sounds that some will have incredible fun with these bikes. Entry at a bit over 2 k ? That's great!
So after my bitching I went for a Capra 27 AL which arrived this afternoon.
Looking forward to the first proper ride Tuesday.
