The Lakes ended my rear mech (as well as cassette), had a XT M780 which is £40 to replace, however I can get the SLX M675 with the clutch for £3 extra, which is tempting. Much difference between XT and SLX in terms of shifting and durability? The clutch would be nice, although not essential!
Oh and this is how the old one looks. 🙁

According to the [url= http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/RD/EV-RD-M786-3321_v1_m56577569830801190.pdf ]Shimano Tech Docs[/url] [s]many[/s]most of the parts are the same or interchangeable between the XT and SLX rear derailleurs.
Get the clutch, they are fantastic!
