am not a road cyclist,but whilst perusing my localish bike shop who are a specialized dealer.there happened to be the 11 version of the tarmac comp that someone was bringing in for repair.anyhoo to cut to the chase was very impressed with how light it was (also loved the look of it as well) well that model retails for £2000 (not that i have the money).looking at next years model though the price has now gone up to £2500! 😯 http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=52383&categoryID=43 was going to start to save for one,but at the new price will be way out of my budget.what do you reckon about the increase?
Components is 105 so doesnt look like its changed from 2011 - probably jusy inflation!
is it definitely the same frameset? if so it's a classic example of how cycling is becoming a rip off.
that model was 1600 3 years ago!
you could buy an SL3 frameset for 1200 discounted, ultegra group for 500 then put aksiums on it and buy discounted finishing kit and better tyres for 2100 max.
there was a good article in mbr a few months ago about the guys at hope and they said themselves the big brands are ripping punters off.
supply and demand i suppose.
personally id go for a caad10 105 for 1200 quid!
